The striker was reportedly the subject of a £10million bid from United and had admitted he would be tempted by joining the Premier League champions.
However, he has now moved to Udinese, who had jointly owned the striker with Sampdoria, where Quagliarella spent last season.
Udinese won the blind auction to secure the player outright and the 23-year-old is determined to repay his new club.
"I'm here to stay," said Quagliarella at a press conference where he was presented as an Udinese player.
"The club have spent a lot on me and I can only say that I am honoured to be wearing this shirt.
"I want to deny the rumours of those who want me elsewhere.
"I want to stay here because I arrive in a serious club to take satisfaction and to confirm myself."
