Hull City have accepted an offer from Blackpool for Stephen McPhee, although the deal will only go through if Fraizer Campell agrees to stay at the KC Stadium.
McPhee has started just seven league games this season and is now in talks with Hull's Championship rivals.
But while Phil Brown is happy to allow McPhee to move to Blackpool, the Tigers boss will not rubber-stamp the deal until he has a decision on Campbell's future.
Brown is hoping to extend the Manchester United striker's loan until the end of the season and is waiting for an answer.
"We've accepted a bid from Blackpool for Stephen McPhee and he's talking with them in regard to personal terms," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"The financial side of the deal looks good for us, but the deal will only go through if Stephen McPhee agrees terms.
"I'll speak with Sir Alex, Fraizer and his father and hopefully there'll be positive news for us.
"But I will emphasise that if the move isn't positive for us, Stephen McPhee will not be going anywhere."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to allow Campbell to stay out on loan, leaving the young forward to decide on an extended spell with Hull.
