England star plays for an hour

Gary Neville played an hour for Manchester United's reserves as he stepped up his latest bid to return to full fitness. The England full-back has spent just short of a year on the sidelines having seen numerous comebacks hampered by injury. The United skipper played 60 minutes for The Red Devils' second string against Liverpool on Tuesday - but he could not prevent them from going down to a 2-0 defeat at The Halliwell Jones Stadium. Liverpool also had Daniel Agger stepping up his fitness bid along side the likes of Harry Kewell and Xabi Alonso. It was Alonso and Kewell who grabbed the goals in-front of over 10,000 fans.
