Oldham have signed Kieran Lee and Greg Fleming from Manchester United and Gretna respectively.

Sheridan moves quickly for keeper and midfielder

Oldham boss John Sheridan has wasted little time in reshaping his squad for next season having signed midfielder Kieran Lee and goalkeeper Greg Fleming from Manchester United and Gretna respectively. Having finished the past campaign in eighth place, Sheridan has targeted promotion for next term and is eager to move quickly and have a settled squad for pre-season. Lee, capable of playing in midfield and at full-back, made three appearances for United in his time at Old Trafford.

Local club

He told the club's official website: "One of my things was to sign for a local team. Oldham came in for me and it was just perfect for me to sign for them." Scotland Under 21 international Fleming has signed a three-year deal after leaving financially stricken Gretna at the end of the season. The Latics beat Crewe to the youngster's signature after it was revealed on Tuesday that he was approached by the Railwaymen's first-team coach Steve Holland, with Preston also thought to have been interested. "It was a good chance to come down, Oldham are a big club," Lee added. "Obviously they have played in the Premiership and hopefully we can look to get back up there soon."
