Midfielder happy with comeback performance

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has expressed his delight after returning from injury. The South Korean underwent a knee operation over the summer and played no part in the club's pre-season campaign. He came on a substitute in the Uefa Super Cup defeat to Zenit St Petersburg last month and made his first start in the goalless draw against Villarreal on Wednesday. Park produced a lively display and was thrilled to be back in action after such a lengthy lay-off. "It's been a long time since I last played for United, so it was good to get out there again," Park told reporters. "I'm quite satisfied with my performance, but there's still room for improvement."

Confident

Park is confident that United can go on to win the UEFA Champions League for a second successive year despite being held to a goalless draw by Villarreal. "The performance was okay," Park added on United's official website. "We just couldn't score. "But it's only the first game in this season's Champions League, so we're not worried too much. "We'll keep going, our confidence will grow and hopefully the goals will come. "I think we're good enough to defend the trophy this season - our squad is strong and we have a lot of experience from last season."
