Zoran Tosic admits he does not know anything about reports that Manchester United are trying to sign him.
Speculation has claimed that United have already applied for a work-permit for 21-year-old Tosic - who is a left-winger.
However, the Serb international comes up short of the initial criteria and it is claimed that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to attend a permit hearing this week to try and convince the Home Office to grant Tosic a move to England.
Amid claims that an £8million deal has been done with his club Partizan Belgrade, Tosic admits he has been left in shock by the reports.
In the dark
"I don't know anything about it," said Tosic.
"I heard about that on TV. My friends called me and told me to watch SOS Kanal [a Serbian TV station] and I was surprised.
"I really don't think about a transfer to United. We will talk about this in the future."
Tosic admitted that the prospect of playing in England is obviously an appealing one.
"If this will happen, we will talk about me playing in England and playing in Ryan Giggs' position but, until then, it doesn't make sense to talk about it," he said.
"The Premier League is the strongest league in Europe. The game is all about strength and aggression. The beauty of the game is not so important."
United are becoming well versed in the Serbian market, with Nemanja Vidic already a prominent member of the Old Trafford playing staff.
Tosic's Partizan team-mate Adem Ljahic was on trial with United earlier this year, whilst fellow international Milos Krasic was also understood to have attracted Red Devils officials after impressing in recent internationals.
