Crocked midfielder tipped for United return

World renowned knee surgeon Dr Richard Steadman believes midfielder Owen Hargreaves is ready to make his Manchester United return. The England international has missed almost two full years of action following his big-money move from Bayern Munich in July 2007 following a series of problems with tendinitis in his knees. The 29-year-old mustered just a minute's action against Sunderland on the final day of last season, although it now appears as though he could feature against West Brom this weekend. Steadman has been closely involved in aiding Hargreaves' fitness and rehabilitation and not only claims he is free to play against the Baggies, feels things are 'looking good' for the future.

"Owen should play some part on Saturday," explained Steadman. "Our physical therapist, Luke O'Brien, has been working very closely with United's coaches on his rehab. "It's been a long road back and there have been some setbacks along the way. "But I've got a lot of admiration for the way Owen has responded - he's worked very hard and has never given up. "Things are looking good for him now."
