Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is confident he has improved this season and is enjoying his first campaign in the Premier League.
De Gea joined the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid last summer and initially struggled to adapt to the physical demands of the English game.
He lost his place to Anders Lindegaard for several matches around the turn of the year, but has impressed since returning to the team following an injury to his team-mate.
A 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic in midweek ended a run of five consecutive clean sheets in the league and De Gea is looking for the leaders to bounce back against Aston Villa on Sunday.
"I am really enjoying it," said the Spain Under 21 international. "We can't wait for each game and I want the Aston Villa match to come round as quickly as possible.
"There is a little way to go yet and we still have plenty of work to do. But the dressing room is very positive. We intend to keep fighting and maintain that advantage."
He added: "I am very happy with my level of performance at the moment.
"It was always going to be tougher at the beginning. It took me a while to get used to the new faces and settle in with a new group of players in a different league.
"But I have improved from the start of the season and I am happy with how things are going at the moment.
"If you ask any player, when their confidence is high they are always going to put in better performances and, at the moment, my confidence is good."
De Gea believes a key factor in his improved form has been the consistency in selection in United's defence, with Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans playing regularly at centre-half.
"Having the same players around doesn't just help me - it is the defenders themselves," said De Gea.
"It is a real positive for them because you get that consistency and continuity, which makes it far easier."
