How have Mason Mount, Michy Batshuayi and Divock Origi fared this season?

Batshuayi has scored eight goals in his first 11 appearances for Dortmund

How has some time away from their clubs helped the Premier League loanees this season?

Some players view a loan spell as an opportunity, others as a sign of rejection - but it's always a chance to impress regardless.

It can be easy to forget or lose track of a player who's away from your club, or the Premier League - so here's our top 10 hits, and misses, of those who have been off the radar this season.

Divock Origi (Liverpool to Wolfsburg) - Miss

Origi's spell at Anfield has not turned out as he might have hoped and neither has his loan spell in Germany, arranged on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Seven goals in 36 games for Wolfsburg have not massively helped their cause as they stuttered to 16th in the Bundesliga, but a goal and an assist in the first leg of their relegation play-off with Holstein Kiel, which ultimately helped to keep them in the top flight, will give both parties some extra fondness of their time together.

His form saw him left out of Roberto Martinez's Belgium squad for the World Cup, having failed to play a single minute of their qualification campaign either.

Mason Mount (Chelsea to Vitesse) - Hit

From relative unknown at the start of the season to an outside shot of the Chelsea first team next season, as well as training with England ahead of their World Cup campaign, it's been quite a 12 months for Mount.

Sent off to the hotbed of Chelsea loan talent, Vitesse in the Netherlands, he helped his loan side secure a play-off spot for the Europa League by scoring 14 goals for the club, including six in his last six games.

The 19-year-old England midfielder impressed with his creativity, too, laying on six assists in his final seven games. You can read our full profile of him here.

Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund) - Hit

With poor form and low confidence seeing him written off as an expensive flop in many quarters, Batshuayi had struggled to impress at Chelsea with only two league goals in the opening half of the season and failing to impress when given a rare start.

But he hit the ground flying, more than running, when he arrived in Dortmund in January with five goals in his first three games, and nine in all competitions by the end of the season.

That form earned him a call-up to the Belgium World Cup squad, and perhaps a reprieve at Stamford Bridge next season?

Joel Campbell (Arsenal to Real Betis) - Miss

It looked like Campbell maybe forcing his way into Arsene Wenger's plans at one stage, playing 19 times in 2015/16, but following that up with a season-loan at Sporting and starting just seven league games, before managing only two at Betis this season, have put paid to that.

Injuries have hampered the Costa Rica international's time in Spain, but despite being an unused substitute 12 of the 20 times he made the Betis squad, he said earlier this year he would like to stay in Spain, and away from the Emirates. He may well get his wish on the latter, having featured only 23 times since signing for Arsenal in 2011.

Vincent Janssen (Tottenham to Fenerbahce) - Miss

After an awful first season in English football, things have gone better for Janssen in Turkey - but not much better.

Four goals in 16 games for Fenerbahce is unspectacular, but he has scored once every 213 minutes on average, only a little worse than a goal a game.

Injuries have not helped the Netherlands international's cause with the club, but we may well have still seen nowhere near the best of him.

Marco van Ginkel (Chelsea to PSV) - Hit

An exceptional 14 goals from central midfield for PSV suggest it's now or never for Van Ginkel at Chelsea, for whom he has still only played twice in five years.

Now 25, this is easily the most profitable season of the Netherlands international's career, helping PSV back to the top of the Eredivisie ahead of rivals Ajax.

But eight goals in 13 games for the same club two years ago were not enough to convince the Blues he was worth a shot, so he may need to look away from Stamford Bridge - on loan or otherwise - for more minutes next term.

Josh Onomah (Tottenham to Aston Villa) - Hit

Onomah was tipped as the next big thing when he broke through at White Hart Lane in 2015, but his appearances at Spurs, a club renowned for giving young English talent a chance, never materialised into regular first-team football.

Shipped off to Aston Villa last summer, the 21-year-old has played 33 times in the Championship this season, scoring four times.

But he hasn't always hit the high notes, and has started only 20 games under Steve Bruce since his loan move.

Ademola Lookman (Everton to RB Leipzig) - Hit

Lookman, 20, left Sam Allardyce dumbfounded when he decided to go overseas to try his luck away from Everton, who had not given the tricky winger much of a chance to impress in the first half of the season.

But he has done just that in Germany, scoring an impressive five goals in 11 starts for the big-spending club, who just missed out on a Champions League qualifying spot.

That kind of form has led him to hint he could be ready to stay with his loan club - and they have been more than happy to confirm they would like to keep him.

Lucas Perez (Arsenal to Deportivo) - Miss

Eight goals in 31 games back at Deportivo failed to set the world alight, or even save Perez's loan club from relegation from La Liga, following a difficult first season in England.

Signed in August 2016 from the same club, for whom he had scored 17 times the previous season, Perez's form never reached anything like that level for the beleaguered side.

Reece Oxford (West Ham to Borussia Monchengladbach) - Miss

It's been a tough year for Oxford, who was brought back from a first spell at Monchengladbach by David Moyes in January so he could run the rule over him.

But having failed to impress, he was shipped back off to Germany where his impact was limited, with only seven Bundesliga appearances all season.

Despite that, Oxford has been reported to be looking for a move back to Germany in the summer.
