The European season will come to a close this weekend with the Champions League final, yet teams across the continent have already got to work scouting out new players for next season.

We asked our friends at Football Whispers to scour the European media to round-up the latest transfer news and big stories.

Italy

Chelsea could make a double swoop for a new manager who will bring with him one of the best centre-backs in Europe. Maurizio Sarri has left Napoli after the club appointed Carlo Ancelotti, and the manager who helped them challenge Juventus for the title could be on his way to Chelsea, bringing Kalidou Koulibaly with him in a €70m deal. Juventus will confirm the signing of Liverpool's Emre Can by the end of May after the Italian club's chief executive, Giuseppe Marotta, said the deal could be announced within 10 days. Despite having been out of the Liverpool side with injury towards the end of this season, he could still feature in the Champions League final. The move to Juventus is likely to be officially announced after that game. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Manchester City continue to be linked with Napoli midfielder Jorginho. Bayern Munich's Arturo Vidal has been linked with a number of clubs in the past year, and with the arrival at the club of Leon Goretzka, he could look to make one last move this summer. (Calciomercato)

France

Nabil Fekir has refused to rule out a move to Liverpool and has been strongly linked with the club in the last 24 hours. When asked about the possibility of such a move, he responded" "Why not? Later there can be discussions with the president, with my agent, to make a decision. In life, nothing can be ruled out." (RTL)

Marseille's former Newcastle midfielder Florian Thauvin wants to play in the Champions League, sparking rumours that he will leave the club this summer. Following an excellent season as one of the outstanding players in Ligue 1, he could have a number of suitors. "It bothers me not to play the Champions League, it's problematic. I am very happy at OM, but I do not rule anything out." (Eurosport France)

Spain

Chelsea could look to use Alvaro Morata as part of a deal for Inter striker Mauro Icardi. The club are considering their options up front, and with the Spaniard favouring a return to Italy, including him in a deal for Icardi could shave millions off the Argentine's price tag. (Cadena Ser)
