The England Under-21 international has been largely overlooked by new Chelsea coach Claudio Ranieri, although the Italian realises that selling one of his few quality homegrown players will not be welcomed by some sections of the Stamford Bridge support.
Although only 21, Morris is desperate for first team football and an opportunity to link up with Peter Taylor at Filbert Street, may prove irresistable.
"Jody is very close to Peter Taylor," Barnett told The Evening Standard.
"If a chance came to move to Leicester, he wouldn`t say no.
"He`s not ecstatically happy at the moment because he would like to be playing more."
Whether City could afford the player is another matter altogether and Taylor is being linked with a number of players who performed in his successful Under-21 line-up, including Manchester United`s Jonathan Greening.
The East Midlanders` priority target would appear to be a striker, since Stan Collymore`s departure to Bradford, but it does seem as though Morris is becoming a little frustrated in West London.
