Morris' appearance as an 87th minute substitute against Liverpool in the Worthington Cup on Wednesday was his first in a month for the London club, the previous appearance also being against Gerard Houllier's men, when he again came on as a substitute in the second half of the Premiership match on October 1st.
The 21-year-old had been quite positive in the summer, after holding talks with former manager Gianluca Vialli, but Ranieri's arrival has prompted an extended stay on the sidelines for the England Under 21 international.
Now Morris has said that he will be seeking talks with Ranieri, in the wake of the interest that has been shown in him by Leicester City recently.
"Luca and I had a talk in the summer and I was very positive about how he saw my future, plus although I wouldn't want it to happen to anyone Roberto's injury made me think I could possibly be in line for more starts.
"But the new coach has strengthened all across the midfield and it now looks like I have moved down the order, I will talk to the coach about how he sees my role."
However, Morris did add that he would be happy to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place, saying: "I have two years left on my current contract and although it's nice to hear that other clubs are interested, I have time to make an impression so that's what I will do."
