A month ago Morris hinted that he would look for a move away from Stamford Bridge after being shunned from the first team during Claudio Ranieri's first month in charge.
However, Morris has played the last four games for the West London side and they would be loathed probably the club's most promising youngster.
The talented 21-year-old midfielder has been linked to Leicester before, due to his close relationship with his former England Under-21 international boss.
Indeed during his spell on the sidelines, Morris' agent Jonathan Barnett said: "Jody is very close to Peter Taylor, if a chance came to move to Leicester he wouldn't say."
Morris has been often been at conflict with Chelsea and in particular chairman Ken Bates, who has blasted him in the past for what he considered his "unprofessional" lifestyle.
Although more of a playmaker than Lennon, Morris would be a welcome addition to a Leicester side that, despite their lofty position, have received criticism from some of their fans for lacking creativity.
Celtic are expected to meet Leicester's valuation of £5 million - plus the 15% extra sell-on fee that Crewe will receive - by the 5 pm deadline on Tuesday that Taylor set.
