The diminutive midfielder - a favourite of the fans of the club and considered a bright spark for the future of the England national side admitted that his concentration was not helped by non-selection.
"If you don't play you feel disillusioned and that makes it hard to focus," said Morris. "Ask any footballer and they will tell you they need a run to get their best form.
"It's a confidence thing. It really affects you if you don't play for a while. All of a sudden you are called in out of the blue and you think to yourself 'Blimey, I'm under pressure to play well - if I don't I won't get picked again.
"There has been talk recently about Leicester, but the fans told me not to go. But it has not worked out."
