The Cameroon international met officials at the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday, and his agent Lucidio Ribeiro has revealed that his client is likely to sign a new deal in the Spanish capital.
With Aitor Karanka, Iker Casillas and Fernando Morientes all penning new deals with the Liga champions, Jorge Valdano is keen to tie Geremi down in a bid to thwart the attention of his potential suitors.
The African full back is believed to have firm offers from Juventus and Chelsea, while compatriot Lauren Biscal is thought to have recommended his friend to Arsene Wenger as a long-term replacement for Lee Dixon.
Agent Vicenzo Morabito was reported to be in Madrid on business for Juventus, with a view to expressing an interest in Geremi. The Turin representative was expected to make a formal offer for the defender.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are also believed to be in the running for the former Genclerbirligi man but Real seem determined to hang onto somebody who is becoming a much-coveted possession.
As for Real's incoming moves, Beto is set to leave Sporting Lisbon for Madrid within the next few days.
The powerful centre back has been the subject of a protracted move from Portugal but his agent Jose Veiga is meeting with Real directors to speak about a cash plus Rodrigo transfer.
Rodrigo has been on loan in Libson and his performances at Jose Alvalade have persuaded the club to keep him permanently, although Internacional Porto Alegre are also interested in signing him.
Real are being linked with Lazio's Pavel Nedved, even though he had looked certain to remain in Rome.
Valdano has been holding meetings with Lazio and both Salas and Nedved are rumoured to have been offered to the 2000 Champions League winners.
However, both could prove too costly for Valdano's liking.
