Coach Jacques Santini has obviously been impressed by Gallas, who has continued to shine for Chelsea this season, after a brilliant start to his Stamford Bridge career last year.
Santini has also handed a shock recall to Leeds' Olivier Dacourt, who has only just won back his place at Elland Road.
Auxerre starlet Phillipe Mexes is also called into the squad and is likely to be given his international debut in one of the games.
Manchester United's Fabien Barthez continues as number one, but his understudy is Gregory Coupet of Lyon who has been preferred to Ulrich Rame.
Santini has also placed the trio of Nicolas Anelka, Pascal Cygan and Jean-Alain Boumsong on stand-by.
David Trezeguet, Emmanuel Petit, Bixente Lizarazu, Djibril Cisse and Robert Pires all miss out because of injury.
