The central defender has fielded approaches from both Chelsea and Monaco, but has decided to extend his stay at La Rosaleda.
The 29-year-old, son of former Real Madrid president Lorenzo Sanz, is now set to pen a new four-year deal with Malaga, and claims he put his happiness ahead of the financial aspect in his decision.
"The important thing is the family factor and stability and for that reason I preferred to stay," stated the stopper.
Sanz joined the Andalusia-based outfit in 1999, and his choice to stay will come as a boost to the club in the week they saw star striker Dario Silva leave for Sevilla.
