The 22-year-old is wanted by The Blues and, backed by their new billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, the Londoners are believed to have tested Saints' resolve with a £7 million offer.
News first broke of Chelsea's interest in the left back last week, and the player's agent Jonathan Barnett confirmed that Bridge would be interested in such a move.
Now Lowe has revealed that any decision will be left to Bridge - which suggests that the player could now be set to end his five-year association with his hometown club.
"No deal has been done at the moment," said Lowe, hinting that talks with Chelsea had begun.
"If and when it is, then we will keep people posted.

"Anything that is done will, as always, be in the best interests of the club."
