Roman Abramovich could be ready to bail Italian side Parma out of the financial mire - and secure the pick of the Italian club's players for Chelsea at the same time.
Parma are currently in dire financial straits, with the embezzlement scandal blighting club owners Paramalat dominating the headlines in Italy.
Abramovich had been suggested as a man who could buy a stake in the club and help alleviate their reported £52 million debt - but the current suggestion is that Chelsea could be the main beneficiaries.
The Russian tycoon could, according to the Italian media, buy Sebastien Frey now and leave the highly-rated French goalkeeper with Parma until the summer.
Frey is by no means Parma's only saleable asset, although a half-ownership with Internazionale of star Brazilian Adriano could make his transfer complicated.
