The Argentinian's property in Barnes, South West London was broken in to on Sunday morning while people were inside.
A 35-year-old man from Wandsworth was arrested regarding the incident and was remanded in custody by Richmond Magistrates.
The intruder was allegedly carrying a machete and threatened Veron with the implement while the South American lay in bed.
At least six people, including children, were understood to have been inside the house while the break-in occurred.
Veron has yet to sparkle for Chelsea since his £15 million move from Manchester United last summer.
The 28-year-old has made just 11 appearances for The Blues this term and has not featured since early November due to injury.
In a statement issued through the club, Veron admitted the incident provided a 'little bit of a scare' and he praised the police for their involvement in the matter.
"I would like to express my thanks to the police on behalf of my family and our friends for their very swift response to our call for help," said Veron.
"Both the police and our neighbours have been very supportive since the incident.
"We have had a little bit of a scare but no-one is injured and life goes on."
