Chelsea are reportedly set to make an improved firm offer for Rennes' highly-rated Czech Republic international keeper Petr Cech.
Reports in France are intimating an offer around the é¼9 million mark (£6.2 million) is in the pipeline from the London outfit after seeing their first bid rejected.
Officials from the Brittany side have been willing to listen to what the Stamford Bridge club are willing to offer, but are likely to reject any firm advance.
Cech has already made it clear he is keen on moving to The Premiership, however unless the clubs agree a fee - he may have to wait until next summer.
Should The Blues ultimately fail in a move for Cech, they could renew their interest in Parma goalkeeper Sebastian Frey with whom they have previously been linked.
