Because of the amount of money Roman Abramovich has splashed out on the team last summer, Ranieri was under pressure to deliver success instantly.
The Italian has always been adamant that he is building a team for the future, but that has not stopped the constant speculation about his job - especially involving Sven Goran Eriksson.
Romanian marksman Mutu believes Chelsea have done well so far, being second in the Premiership and still in the UEFA Champions League.
The Blues have drawn Arsenal in the last eight in Europe, and The Gunners are the only side above them in the league table and also knocked them out of the FA Cup.
Mutu hopes everyone will lay-off Ranieri as he is doing a good job, while saying that it is only Arsenal who have had the better of them.
"I think he is the right manager for this team and I hope for him to stay," said Mutu.
"Now we are in the quarter finals of the Champions League I hope that people will stop saying things.
"We have lost to one good team in Arsenal in the league and also in the FA Cup.
"Maybe it means we will also lose the Premier League - but only to a big team and it is very close.
"The players like him, and we know we are working together at Chelsea.
"I have always said that we need this season to link together, and then next year we will be ready to win."
