Veron's big-money moves to Manchester United and Chelsea did not work out as he would have liked, as injuries scuppered his chances of shining in The Premiership.
The Argentina international has returned to Italy to play with Inter on loan for the coming season, and he believes he can show his true ability.
Veron says that he is delighted to be back in Italy, saying Milan is the perfect place to get his revenge on those who have doubted him.
"In the second year at Manchester United I had knee problems, at Chelsea I have been hindered by my back," Veron told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"When you're lacking in match practice you face negative periods. I needed to change but also to get back to my old self.
"I will look for revenge.
"Playing in Italy again seems natural, and playing in Inter's jersey gives me a lot of motivation.
"They are a team that will be perfect for me to gain my revenge.
"It's an honour wearing the Nerazzurri jersey."
Veron explained that his good relationship with former Lazio team-mate Roberto Mancini, who is now Inter's new boss, was key to him moving.
"Me and Mancini know each other really well and we've spoken many times before my arrival in Milan.
"For a player to arrive in a team knowing the coach has a lot of esteem for you is undoubtedly a big advantage on psychological level.
"I know I must be an example for the group. They explained to me that Inter needed a player who was able to manage his team-mates.
"Mancini chose me."
