Chelsea star Adrian Mutu admits he has had talks with new boss Jose Mourinho over his lifestyle and that next season the club's supporters will see his true ability.
The talented Romania international arrived at Chelsea last summer in a £15.8 million move from Parma and proved an immediate hit with the Stamford Bridge faithful.
However, his exciting introduction to English football soon waned amidst constant speculation over his inappropriate behaviour.
''In everybody's life there must be some bad points,'' conceded Mutu.
''I know what went wrong last year. But I gained a lot of experience from this, about life and about football.''
New Chelsea chief Mourinho is a known disciplinarian and the player is adamant that next season he will rediscover his scoring touch and resist off the field temptations.
He continued: ''Hopefully Mr Mourinho can help me. I spoke with him and things are clear between us.
''There is no misunderstanding. I hope to score a lot of goals and repay the trust Mr Mourinho has shown in me.
''I'm going to focus on my football and nothing else. It's not difficult to stay at home rather than go out.
''If you are focused on football you have to respect yourself. To go out every night is not good.''
