Jose Mourinho has rejected reports that Newcastle are chasing William Gallas and Robert Huth.Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has rejected reports that Newcastle are chasing William Gallas and Robert Huth.
Newcastle are searching for a new defender after selling Jonathan Woodgate to Real Madrid and both Gallas and Huth are thought to be among their top targets.
Mourinho insists he has received no enquiries for either player and that he is not interested in selling any players.
"We have 24 great players in the squad and I will need all of them," said Mourinho.
Chelsea go into this weekend's game with Birmingham boosted by the return to fitness of Damien Duff and Glen Johnson after they featured for their respective countries in midweek.
Duff played the full 90 minutes of Republic of Ireland's 1-1 draw with Bulgaria, while Johnson got a 45-minute run-out for England against Ukraine.
Both men could now be in contention at Birmingham and Mourinho is happy to see them get valuable action under their belts.
"In the case of Damien and Johnson it was fantastic for me that they went with their international teams and they got minutes," said Mourinho.
"Damien got 90 and Glen 45 and for me it is important for their confidence, for their shape and for when their moment to play for Chelsea arrives they are in a good condition
"They know where they are with Chelsea, we have a squad of 24 players."
Adrian Mutu misses out after picking up a knee injury on international duty for Romania.
"He got a kick in the muscle close to his knee and couldn't train yesterday and this morning he was very doubtful again so we decided to leave him out," added Mourinho.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have confirmed they have terminated the contract of goalkeeper Jurgen Macho.
Macho has joined Rapid Vienna on a 12-month deal and Chelsea have decided to release him one year early from his contract.
