Cudicini carrying injury

Petr Cech has revealed his goalkeeping rival at Chelsea - Carlo Cudicini - is injured.

Petr Cech has revealed his goalkeeping rival at Chelsea - Carlo Cudicini - is currently injured.

Cudicini has lost the number one jersey to Cech following the Czech Republic international's arrival at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Italian has been Cech's back-up but was not on the substitutes' bench for last week's win at home to Southampton.

Cech admits Cudicini is carrying a minor knock and also insists there have been no hard feelings from the keeper, or the fans, about his position as Jose Mourinho's first choice.

"He is injured and he hasn't trained for the last few days," said Cech of Cudicini.

"But after the international break, he should be okay.

"Fans of Chelsea love football and they don't differentiate that you are a star, a new boy or masseur. All of them understand that you belong to the team."

Cech is happy with the start to his Blues career, after being beaten only once in four matches as Mourinho boasts a 100 percent as Chelsea chief.

The keeper added: "Before the international break we wanted to have 12 points which we succeeded in doing.

"It's also good for me. I had clean sheets in three matches."
