Mutu reveals drugs shock

Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has revealed his shock at failing a drugs test.

Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has revealed his shock at reportedly failing a drugs test.

Mutu has found himself at the centre of a major controversy after a national newspaper named him as the Premiership player who had reportedly failed a random drugs test.

The Romanian international, who is believed to have failed the test in September, is stunned at the recent events.

"I'm obviously shocked and can't believe this has happened to me," Mutu told Romanian newspaper Sport Gazette.

One of Mutu's three agents Victor Becali claims the player has confessed to him of taking an illegal substance at a party.

Mutu is anxiously awaiting the result of a B sample after his original test proved positive and Becali concedes the player did take an illegal substance at a party.

"Adrian told me he had some illegal substance at a party. He attended many parties like this," said Becali.

Another of Mutu's representatives Ioan Becali has hit out at his client for his lifestyle.

Becali is not surprised Mutu has found himself in trouble after launching a scathing attack on the player.

"Mutu made incredible mistakes. He was like a boy who thought he conquered the universe," Becali told Romanian television.

"He was a boy who thought he was God.

"Mutu defied me all the time. I told him to stop buying mobiles for £25,000, cars and yachts."
