Adrian Mutu's agent has admitted the striker is in a 'state of shock'.Adrian Mutu's agent has admitted the Chelsea striker is in a 'state of shock' at being named as the player reported to have failed a drugs test.
The Sunday Mail claimed that a Premiership star had failed a random drugs test conducted by testers UK Sport.
The FA and testers UK Sport have not yet commented on the report, but widespread media coverage on Monday has named Romanian striker Mutu as the player in question.
Mutu's agent, who is heading to London to be with his client, admits the Romanian is in a 'state of shock'.
"We haven't received anything until now," Mutu's representative Victor Becali is quoted as saying in the Daily Star. "But tomorrow (Monday) morning me and my business partner, Gica Popescu, will go to London.
"I spoke to Mutu on Saturday. He didn't say anything to me about this story. But after I heard the story I called him and he was absolutely shocked.
"I have heard that this is not a recent test. I think it was done in September."
