Chelsea captain John Terry believes Wayne Bridge will prove his worth at left back.Chelsea captain John Terry believes Wayne Bridge will prove his worth at left back.
The England centre back gave the former Southampton defender his support following reports the Stamford Bridge club may be looking to sign Arsenal's Ashley Cole.
Cole is thought to have had a meeting with Blues chief executive Peter Kenyon, manager Jose Mourinho and agent Pini Zahavi regarding a possible switch to the West London outfit last week.
Despite the speculation, Terry believes Bridge can end the reported links with other players by showing his worth at left back.
"Wayne has been fantastic all season, but in the last five or six games, he has been one of our best players," Terry said.
"He had the same problem last summer when there was talk about Roberto Carlos coming here, but he came back for pre-season really sharp.
"Wayne knows he is up there with Ashley and Roberto Carlos, so he'll deal with it the same way.
"The fans love him, but the manager will rotate and everyone at the club knows that."
With The Blues travelling to face Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening, Terry was not concerned with the club's prospects of winning four competitions this season.
"The main thing is we get three points at Blackburn," Terry added.
"The Quadruple is a million miles away."
