Chelsea are taking a close interest in Toulouse's highly-rated young defender Lucien Aubey.
The France Under-21 international has been brought to the attention of The Blues' continental scouting network following a string of commanding performances this season.
Aubey, who can play across the back four, is one of the brightest defensive talents in Ligue 1 and has caught the eye of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
The 20-year-old has been watched repeatedly by the big-spending Premiership club over the past three months and a summer bid could be in the pipeline.
In addition to signing up established stars, Chelsea are also keen on recruiting the best burgeoning talents in world football and Aubey is the latest to drop on to Mourinho's radar.
He has been a regular in the Toulouse team for the past three seasons, despite his tender years.
Aubey recently signed a contract to stay with Toulouse until 2009 and is in no hurry to leave the French outfit.
But interest from Chelsea seems certain to turn the stopper's head, particularly if the club follow up on their favourable scouting reports.
If The Blues do move in with a bid in the summer, they are likely to face competition from two French sides and an Italian club but, with Chelsea's limitless millions, they are likely to come up with the most tempting bid for Toulouse to consider.
