The talented Argentine was swiftly dispatched to Italy upon Jose Mourinho's arrival at Stamford Bridge, where he has enjoyed a fruitful campaign.
Veron is due to return to West London upon the completion of his loan spell, but a further spell at the Nerazzurri appears a more likely scenario.
Speculation from the Italian press suggests a further loan deal could be struck - with Veron keen to remain in Serie A.
''If it was up to me, I've already told Inter officials that I'd like to end my European career here,'' said Veron.
''But I don't decide alone. It must be understood first what Chelsea want to do, and then wait for the result of our season.
''Maybe in June, Inter will decide not to keep me. That's why at the moment my only problem is to dump the Rossoneri out of the Champions League.
''It's true that I have had lunch with most of the presidents of my country's big clubs, but I have also had lunch with (Massimo) Moratti too.
''I have promised to close my career at Inter, with the exception of an Argentine adventure at Estudiantes de la Plata - the club in which I grew up at.''
