Jose wants Crespo back

Jose Mourinho has revealed he wants Hernan Crespo back at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he wants Hernan Crespo back at Stamford Bridge next season.

The Argentina international is currently on a season-long loan at Milan after dropping down the pecking order at Chelsea.

Crespo has rediscovered his best form in Italy and he has expressed his desire to turn his loan move into a permanent arrangement.

Milan have also revealed they would like to keep Crespo at the Giuseppe Meazza and have already held talks with the Blues about a permanent deal.

Mourinho, however, has admitted Crespo could still have a future at Chelsea.

"There is a big chance he will come back," said Mourinho. "He is having a good season and I want him to stay.

"AC Milan will have to pay a lot of money if they want to buy him."

Mourinho also revealed that Wayne Bridge may miss the start of next season as he continues to recover from injury.

Bridge has been sidelined since February after breaking his ankle against Newcastle.

It was hoped that Bridge would be fit for the start of the new season in August, but Mourinho admits it could be longer before the full back is back in action.

"Maybe Wayne will not be ready for the start of next season because his injury was very bad," added Mourinho.

Meanwhile, Mourinho admits he is already planning for next season and is keen to have even more competition for places.

"I can be in love with players for what they did this season but if they don't do it next season, I'm not in love anymore," said Mourinho

"I cannot give Petr Cech the goalkeeper's jersey just because he was outstanding this season.

"I cannot say to John Terry that because you were my captain and the best player in England, I cannot promise him that he will play every game.

"It is about internal competition and I think that's what brings you big motivation every day.

"To keep that internal fight we have to face next season with the same ambition.

"The most difficult thing is to win the title for the first time. From the mental point of view, it is the most difficult.

"Next season, we have a different power. Players and fans will believe more and opponents will look to us with different eyes.

"I believe in a group of 24 players but it is normal that some will leave.

Sometimes people need to leave to change their lives or motivation.

"We will have the same group with two or three new faces. It is important to create new motivations and challengers for the players.

"I spent yesterday morning with Roman Abramovich and Peter Kenyon preparing for next season.

"This championship is not the end of the process, it is the beginning.
