Turkey international Nihat Kahveci will reportedly move to Chelsea next summer.Turkey international Nihat Kahveci will reportedly move to Chelsea next summer, after spending a season with CSKA Moscow.
The Russian outfit, with whom Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has links, are closing in on the capture of Kahveci.
CSKA are rumoured to be paying around é¼10 million to Real Sociedad for the attacker, with a deal likely to be completed in the next couple of weeks.
Kahveci has already undergone two medicals, having been out of action since February due to a cruciate ligament injury.
He admits he is attracted by the offer from the Uefa Cup winners and is anticipating the deal to be concluded shortly, providing the results of his medical are positive.
"I believe that we will have to wait for a couple of weeks until obtaining the results of the medical examinations," Kahveci told the club's official website.
"However, it is evident that the offer from CSKA is very good for me and for the club."
Sociedad have decided to cash in on Kahveci after the Turk rejected an extension to his contract which expires in 12 months' time.
But speculation in Spain suggests that Kahveci's time in Moscow will be shortlived as he is tipped to head to Chelsea next summer.
Blues owner Abramovich feels Kahveci will benefit from proving his fitness in the Russian capital before linking up with the Premiership champions for the 2006/07 season.
