Bridge back in training

Wayne Bridge is likely to be fit for the start of the new Premiership season.

Wayne Bridge is likely to be fit for the start of the new Premiership season after returning to training with Chelsea.

The England defender's season was cut short in February when he broke an ankle in the FA Cup defeat to Newcastle United.

The defender has worked hard over the last five months and has been passed fit by The Blues' medical team to return to training.

Bridge is not at 100 percent, but is expected to take part in all of Chelsea's pre-season preparations.

The defender was first choice left back for manager Jose Mourinho last term, but he will have to work hard to secure a place in the team next season following the capture of Spanish sensation Asier del Horno.
