Marseille have handed extended deals to both Samir Nasri and Taye Taiwo.Marseille have secured the futures of two of their most promising stars after both Taye Taiwo and Samir Nasri put pen-to-paper on extended deals at Stade Velodrome.
The duo will now continue their education under coach Jean Fernandez after committing their futures to the Ligue 1 side until 2009.
Both starlets had attracted foreign interest after garnering growing reputations at l'OM, and Nasri (pictured) has been repeatedly linked with a move to The Premiership with Arsenal.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle were also believed to hold an interest in the promising 18-year-old midfielder after he rejected a new offer in July, although he has now reached an accord with his parent club.
Nigerian starlet Taiwo enjoyed a successful Fifa World Youth Championship in Holland and PSV Eindhoven responded by attempting to broker an exchange deal involving South Korean star Lee Young-pyo.
Despite retaining the services of the two talents, Marseille are now believed to be ready to allow fellow youngster Ahmed Yahiaoui to leave Stade Velodrome.
The 18-year-old has previously knocked back Premiership champions Chelsea after emerging as one of Le Championnat's most promising players, although after disciplinary problems l'OM are now ready to sanction his departure.
However it is believed that the side would seek to retain 50 percent of his registration should they broker a deal to ensure his exit.
