Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has played down talk of a move for Glen Johnson.Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has played down speculation linking Chelsea defender Glen Johnson with a move to the club.
The 21-year-old has failed to break into Jose Mourinho's side this season, and the manager has admitted that he may be willing to loan the right back out to give him some valuable experience.
Lyon manager Gerard Houllier has previously expressed his interest, but Aulas has claimed that what Lyon currently need is stability, with youngster Francois Clerc likely to be given his chance after waiting patiently in the wings.
"L'OL doesn't need reinforcements at the moment, but if we want to be successful and prepare for the future we have to think about our options," he said.
"In the full back position, it wouldn't be a good idea to replace Clerc now (with Johnson). We must not stop our young players from coming through."
Aulas further distanced Lyon from Johnson by revealing that they were interested in Nantes midfielder Jeremy Toulalan and Bordeaux star Marouane Chamakh.
"In the next few days we will be paying close attention to Chamakh, who is at the African Cup of Nations (with Morocco). We have also asked about Toulalan, who has been linked with Paris Saint Germain."
