Caen have issued a firm hands-off warning regarding Chelsea target Yoan Gouffran.
Caen have issued a firm hands-off warning regarding Yoan Gouffran after the winger was linked with a move to Chelsea.
The Premiership champions were reportedly impressed by the French starlet at the recent European Under-21 Championship in Portugal.
But Caen have dismissed suggestions that Gouffran could be sold and are instead hoping to secure the youngster on a new contract.
"He will stay at Caen," the club's coach Franck Dumas told Ouest-France.
"I am sure about that.
"We don't even have to talk about that eventuality.
"It is over. We have been negotiating with him and his agent for two months.
"I don't care about what the press and rumours say."
Meanwhile, Caen have also completed the signing of Metz captain Gregory Proment on a three-year contract.
Proment was also wanted by Lorient and revealed he felt it was time to leave Metz in search of a new challenge.
"I have experienced so many things with Metz," said Proment.
"I think it was the good moment to leave. Caen is an ambitious club."
