Jose Antonio Reyes has accused Ashley Cole of looking to cause problems.
Jose Antonio Reyes has accused former Arsenal team-mate Ashley Cole of looking to cause problems.
New Chelsea signing Cole has hogged a lot of the headlines over the summer as the candid opinions in his autobiography have come into the public domain.
And Reyes believes that most of Cole's comments have been deliberately designed to break down relationships at Arsenal.
"He is just trying to cause trouble," said the Spaniard. "There was a good atmosphere in the Arsenal dressing room no matter what he says."
Reyes has yet to start a game for Real Madrid since joining them on loan for the season, and could do little to prevent the Spanish giants losing to Lyon in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
However, the 23-year-old is now looking forward to playing his first match in the Bernabeu on Sunday, against Real Sociedad.
"It will be my real debut. The defeat against Lyon was painful and we have to forget it as soon as possible," he said.
"It was not the start that we were all hoping for. We imagined things going better than that, but there is still a long way to go.
"A defeat is always painful, we lost one game and it seems like we lost the whole Champions League."
Coach Fabio Capello and several players stated that the defeat in France was down to Real's fitness levels.
Reyes believes that more emphasis is placed on fitness in England, while technique is central to training in the Spanish league.
"We prepare less on the physical side here," he explained. "In Spain training is more focused on passing and first touch."
