Hilario ready for Barca

Chelsea's third-choice keeper Hilario is relishing the prospect of facing Barcelona.

Chelsea's third-choice keeper Hilario is relishing the prospect of making his debut in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of a UEFA Champions League meeting with Barcelona.

Jose Mourinho will be forced to turn to the 31-year-old on Wednesday due to injuries to Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini.

While Cech is set to be sidelined for a considerable period of time after undergoing emergency surgery on a depressed skull fracture, Cudicini looks set for a swift return to action.

Wednesday's clash with Barcelona will come too soon for Cudicini, though, meaning Hilario will line up against Frank Rijkaard's array of stars.

Such a scenario would fill some players with trepidation, but Hilario is ready for the challenge.

"I am prepared for the challenge," he said in the Daily Mail.

"I am motivated not to waste this opportunity. It does not worry me that it is against our main rivals, Barcelona.

"I am preparing to stop them as much as I can."
