Bolton boss Sam Allardyce insists Tal Ben Haim will not leave on the cheap.
Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce insists they will not let defender Tal Ben Haim leave on the cheap.
The Israel international has been linked with a move away from The Reebok Stadium, with the former Maccabi Tel Aviv player's contract set to expire in the summer.
Allardyce is keen to tie down the 24-year-old to a new deal at Bolton, despite the defender having attracted interest from Premiership rivals Chelsea and Portsmouth.
There are suggestions that Blues boss Jose Mourinho may make a bid for Ben Haim following the loss of John Terry to a recent back injury.
Allardyce, however, has warned they will not be manipulated into parting ways with their key players by other clubs.
"He (Ben Haim) may spark a frenzied bidding war because he is a top talent," Allardyce said in The Sun.
"Although everybody thinks they can play games with us, they can't play games with me.
"Unless we get what we believe he is worth, we may ultimately lose out.
"You have to consider what we could lose through qualification for Europe by letting him go."
