Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka believes anyone who thinks he is always miserable does not know him at all.
Anelka has failed to shrug off the 'Le Sulk' tag handed him to him by Arsenal fans at the end of his spell at Highbury in 1999.
After leaving The Gunners, the French striker has failed to settle anywhere for long, despite playing for the likes of PSG, Liverpool, Man City, Fenerbahce and Bolton.
Anelka is now in his first full season at Stamford Bridge, but still finds little time to smile despite being the Premier League's top scorer with 12 goals to his name.
"I don't know why or who in the first place called me Le Sulk," he told the Daily Mirror.
"It's true that people who don't know me very well don't really know who I am off the field.
"People have often complained that I don't smile on the field. I always say, I smile when there's something to smile about, when there's a goal or something that makes you smile.
"But I don't go around smiling for nothing. Do you? I'm much more happy-go-lucky than people think. It's just that people don't know me very well."
