Chelsea full-back Yuri Zhirkov has admitted he is considering his future after failing to win a first-team spot.
The versatile Russian international can play anywhere up the left-hand side of the pitch, but is behind Ashley Cole and Florent Malouda in the pecking order at both left-back and midfield.
The 27-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge in an £18million deal from CSKA Moscow last summer, but has seen his time blighted by a series of injuries, whilst finding himself unable to find a way past key men Malouda and Cole.
Russian sides Spartak Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg are reportedly interested in bringing Zhirkov back to his homeland.
But the player admitted that despite being out of favour, he wanted to try and take any opportunity that may come his way with the Premier League and FA Cup holders.
"I'll certainly get a chance in the next few months and I'll try to use it completely," he said.
"Then, in the winter, everything will probably depend on whether I got this chance and how I used it.
"We are currently in brilliant form and getting past Malouda and Cole is problematic. Everyone understands about the competition: once you are on the bench you can be there for a long time. But I will definitely get a chance.
"The thoughts when you are watching your team play are always the same: you support, worry and your soul wants to be on the pitch to help."
