Queens Park Rangers defender Danny Simpson is confident striker Loic Remy will remain at the club after the transfer window closes this month.

And Simpson reckons everyone at Loftus Road will receive a lift if Remy stays in west London and helps Rangers on their return to the top-flight.

Although Remy failed to hit the net in the 1-0 reverse to Hull City, Simpson believes he produced an impressive display and he is capable of grabbing goals in the Premier League along with Charlie Austin and Bobby Zamora.

“He looks like he’s happy here and wants to stay. It will give us a boost if he does,” Simpson told Sky Sports.

“I think Loic showed the fans he wants to play and he was unlucky not to score today. It was his first game for us and he hasn’t played much pre-season. He can only get better and he will do well.

“It’s important to have a player like him who can score goals. His pace scares defenders – he’s so quick.

“We’ve got some good strikers, Charlie Austin will score goals and Bobby’s an experienced Premier League player too.”
