But Liverpool received a boost on Tuesday after his agent denied that Goretzka is ready to move to Bayern.

Philippe Coutinho has said he has played his last game for Liverpool as he aims to force through a move to Barcelona this month, according to the Daily Express.

Mundo Deportivo also report that Coutinho will not play against Everton in the FA Cup on Friday evening in case it impacts a move to the Nou Camp.

The 21-year-old linked up with the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan deal last summer but has made just seven appearances for the club.

Any hope that Liverpool might have had of securing Naby Keita ahead of schedule this month appear to have been dashed by RB Leipzig's CEO Oliver Mintzlaff.

The Guinea international will join Liverpool in the summer, but not any time before, according to Mintzlaff. He told Bild: "Neither Naby nor his agent have made the request to leave the club in the winter. There are contracts, and they say that he will be a Liverpool employee from July 1 onwards."
