Liverpool have confirmed Barry Lewtas as their new U18s manager following the departure of Steven Gerrard to Rangers.

Lewtas has been promoted from coaching Liverpool's U16s side, following on from a stint coaching the U12s.

He joined the club in 2013 having previously worked for Bolton and Wigan.

"We're delighted Barry has decided to take up this position," Academy director Alex Inglethorpe said

"He already has a strong relationship with those players who will make the step up to our U18s in 2018-19 thanks to his previous role with the U16s."
