Local reports had claimed the American keeper was heading for Goodison Park, as a potential replacement for Norwegian Thomas Myhre.
However, Stretford said: "I can categorically state neither Brad nor myself is aware of any such proposals. Brad has one year left on his Liverpool contract and we are currently awaiting the outcome of his permit renewal this summer.
"Obviously, from our point of view, if Brad is not to have a future at Liverpool, then it would be remiss of us not to look at other suitable opportunities."
The 29-year-old is unlikely to get his permit renewed, if the Department of Employment closely follow their specified criteria, but he may be allowed a little leeway if he moves in a bid to get regular first team football.
Everton cannot offer this option, after Walter Smith pinned his faith in Paul Gerrard, by awarding the former Oldham man a four-year contract. Steve Simonsen and Myhre may be leaving The Blues, and Friedel is rumoured to be one player being considered by Smith.
