The 24-year-old defender is unhappy at being out of the side, especially as Gerard Houllier warned him off playing for Cameroon in the Olympics - and denied him the chance of appearing in the gold medal-winning side - by saying that it would harm his prospects of first team football.
"There is all sorts of speculation about Rigobert but we have had no official approach from anyone," Houllier said. "I know there are clubs who are interested in him because he is a good player, but nothing has happened.
"I know he isnÇÖt happy about not being in the team and I can understand that. But he hasnÇÖt come to me and said he wants to leave the club."
Charlton also declined to confirm that they had made an approach for the Cameroonian defender.
Meanwhile, Houllier admitted that Dutch striker Meijer - who is well down the pecking order at Anfield - may join Preston on a permanent basis if his spell at the club is a success.
"That is something to consider in the future," the former French national coach said. "At the end of the month we will decide what we want to do and Preston will decide what they want to do.
"We have a good relationship with Preston and we will wait to see what happens in the future."
