Toppi to double up on Owen

The blistering pace of Owen destroyed the German defence in Munich as England ran out 5-1 winners and the former Saarbrucken boss is planning to mark the jet-heeled marksman with two players.
"It is impossible to stop Owen with one person. We have to try and do it with two or more defenders and also to try and do our best to cut off the supply from midfield," said Toppmoller.
"The guys who supply the passes for Owen to run on to are important to Liverpool and we must impose ourselves in that area."
Croatian defender Boris Zivkovic and highly-rated Brazilian Lucio will attempt to put the shackles on Owen but 'Toppi' insists the absence of captain Jens Nowotny (pictured) through suspension is a real body blow.
"Losing Nowotny is a major blow. He was our one player with the pace to at least try and keep up with Owen and I am not sure we can cope without him," added the ex-Bochum chief.
"If my team are willing to fight, we have a chance, because we are much more creative than Liverpool. Liverpool don't have the likes of Ze Roberto, Basturk or Ballack."
Liverpool's German midfielder Dietmar Hamann, who is set to face international team-mate Michael Ballack in the middle of the park, claims Bayer are a strong outfit despite their lack of big names.
"Leverkusen don't really have any big names, but they are not much worse than Real Madrid," claimed the midfield king-pin.
