The win saw The Addicks record their best sequence of results in The Premiership while Liverpool have taken just one point out of the last 15.
Gerard Houllier's men were slow out of the blocks and Charlton made them pay as Jason Euell finished from close range on 36 minutes.
Reds keeper Chris Kirkland, in for the out-of-form Jerzy Dudek, pulled off some good saves in the first half to keep Liverpool in the match.
After the break a rejuvenated Liverpool created a number of chances but were wasteful in front of goal and could not muster an equaliser.
Milan Baros had ball in the back of the net but the effort was ruled offside.
It was to prove costly as Paul Konchesky pounced on 78 minutes to chip into an open net after Chris Kirkland parried Shaun Bartlett's initial effort.
