Reds chief to take in French games

LIVERPOOL manager Gerard Houllier will be taking in France's Under-21 clash with Czech Republic next week.

Houllier will have a number of players on show at Auxerre and The Reds boss is taking the chance to monitor his French based stars.

Gregory Vignal and Alou Diarra - currently on loan at Bastia and Le Havre resectively - with both feature.

Le Havre starlets Anthony Le Tallec and Florent Sinama-Pongolle - who are both joining Liverpool in the summer - will also play in-front of Houllier.

Houllier will then travel to Paris to watch the full international - where he will check on Milan Baros and Vladimir Smicer.

"With Vignal and Diarra loaned to Bastia and Le Havre, Le Tallec and Sinama-Pongolle who already signed with us, and my two Czech's Baros and Smicer, I have several players to follow," he said.

Meanwhile, Vegard Heggam has revealed that he will be leaving Liverpool in the summer.

The Norwegian international has been plagued with injuries during his time at Anfield and with his contract due to expire this summer, he has now been told that he will not be handed a new deal.
